Letter to My Past

Dear past self,

I'm sorry I have failed you,

The weight of silence feels so true,

When I should have been strong,

I faltered, now this feels wrong.

What should I do now?

The answer is simple but tough,

Should I apologise to myself?

It’s hard to embrace it,

For the weight that burdens my heart,

I must learn to release it.

Dear past self,

Our heart still holds tight, right?

The promises we made beneath the stars,

We'll rise, heal and mend,

This is not where it ends.

Please say we'll do better,

And find the way,

To brighter skies, a new day,

The road is long, but not alone,

In the end, can we both be home?
